John Clark
John has been part of the team
since the early eighties when he
played a key role in developing
the School's highly successful
Contemporary Workshops and
Personal Workshops. An artist whose practice embraces word works and installations. He also works for the Tate St Ives Education Department. Steve Dove
Steve was one of the first of St Ives' practising painters to join the School's team of tutors in the late seventies, and was closely involved in establishing the first Contemporary Workshops and evening life classes. He also works for the Tate St Ives Education department. Margaret Eccleston
Margaret has run many painting courses here and abroad and takes a leading role in the printmaking elements of our Contemporary Workshop weeks. Her monoprints have been exhibited widely and her sketches of St Ives illustrated a recent local publication. Hilary Gibson
Hilary trained at St Martin's and has exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Mall Galleries. In addition to painting, she is very experienced in all forms of printmaking, a medium which is central to her practice. She has run many painting courses in different parts of the country and also works for the Tate St Ives Education Department. Liz Luckwell
Liz trained at Dartington College of Arts and has since exhibited widely in group and solo shows with paintings, prints and three dimensional works. Her work is contemporary and she teaches regularly at the School, bringing a new dimension to our life classes and workshops. Alice Mumford
Following her training in painting at Camberwell, and recent solo exhibitions in London and Cornwall, Alice has a growing reputation for her observational paintings, mainly in oils. She is a regular member of our team, teaching landscape, life and portraiture. Marion Taylor
An artist best known for her large abstract paintings and installations, Marion teaches regularly at the School and has been particularly involved in the development of the more contemporary side of our Life Workshops. She also runs numerous seminars and workshops for schools and colleges. Daniel Barnard
Daniel heads the administration at the school but is also one of the regular tutors.
He works with found materials combining humour with a teaspoon of sarcasm and a pinch of empathy. Gary Long
Gary Long is a figurative painter concerned with the coast, sea, sky, weather and the impressions they leave.
After studying at Birmingham and then Manchester College of Art he worked as a successful illustrator on numerous national and international accounts in publishing and advertising. He is an artist member of the Society of Illustrators in New York and lectured at the University College Falmouth for over ten years. |
